...Did I ever mention to you that we have a mini washing machine { a 1.5 outfit clothes washer } in our half bathroom. Well, we do! The purpose, you ask? Well, it is the most perfect tool for cleaning almost all of Oliver's syringes {0.5ml through 60ml in size; 60 or more per day!} and his daily feeding item/equipment. For the last 2 years, we have had this lovely Haier item to make our lives somewhat easier......easier as in- prior to Darling Hubby purchasing this lifesaver of a washer, we were WASHING BY HAND! EEK!
This wonderful item hooks up directly to the faucet of the sink it sits next to, in that half bathroom. Sometimes, when this washer gets hung up on a "small syringe cap" we cuss and fuss until Darling Hubby comes along and fixes it right up! "Small Syringe Caps" are NOT ALLOWED in the washer....Oh No! That causes a Catastrophic backup of dirty syringes SO FAST & FURIOUS, and is not an acceptable situation! SO, we coddle our little Haier washing machine. I admit it! It is { almost } more important than the regular clothes washer!
What? You want to know how we clean all of those irritating yet necessary "Small Syringe Caps" ? Well, that is yet another FUN idea we came up with to avoid the time consuming and much less effective method of HANDWASHING... known as the "Re-usable Microwave Sterilizer Bag" ! We have used bags by "Medela" {think breastfeeding and associated breast pump parts, pacifiers, etc} and have now found the same type of bag available from "Munchkin" and much cheaper! Add dirty caps {and rubber bands, pacifiers, pacifier clips} and 3-4oz of tap water, then microwave on high for 3.5 minutes total!
So, that is how we do it... { just thought I'd mention it! }
